Stones stuck in the urinary tube (ureter) cause unbearable pain. URSL is the fastest way to remove them without any cuts.
The ureter is a very narrow tube. When a stone gets stuck there, it blocks urine flow from the kidney, causing swelling (hydronephrosis) and severe colic pain.
Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy (URSL) is a procedure where a thin scope is passed through the natural urinary passage to reach the stone. A laser then breaks it into tiny sand-like particles.
Entirely performed through the urethra. No scars.
Holmium laser vaporizes the stone instantly.
Most patients go home within 6-12 hours.
A common part of the procedure that patients often ask about.
After breaking the stone, the ureter may be swollen. We place a thin, soft plastic tube called a DJ Stent inside to ensure urine drains freely while the ureter heals.
Is it permanent? No. It is usually removed after 10-14 days in a simple 5-minute procedure.
